Joseph “Joe” Gerard Iosbaker (born Jan. ’59) is a long-time radical and the former Labor Commission Chair of the communist Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO). He traveled to communist China in 1978 and met with workers' groups. He participated in the rioting at the 2008 RNC in St. Paul but doesn't appear to have been arrested. Iosbaker’s home was raided in 2010 during an FBI terrorism investigation but he was never prosecuted. He was one of the marchers on the 2012 RNC in Tampa. He was convicted of criminal trespassing twice in the mid 2010s, charges that were probably protest related. After the Donald was elected in 2016, he participated in a meeting to organize an anti-Trump march which was intended to "protect" groups supposedly threatened by Trump such as LGBTQP and Muslims. He traveled to the Philippines in 2016 to meet with communist groups. Iosbaker became radicalized while a student at the University of Iowa in the late '70s where he was a member of the Revolutionary Student Brigade. His surname is sometimes misspelled as “Isobaker” by the press. He works at the University of Illinois at Chicago and lives in the Chicago area.

Matt “Spek” Watson, aka “Bitter Barista”, is allegedly a member of Emerald City Antifa who posted on the group's FB page. He posted images from the CHAZ zone and took his infant to at least one protest. He participated in the massive July 25th riot near Cal Anderson Park and encouraged people to drop by say hello. Watson appears to have participated in some sort of anti-Trump protest in late 2020 and was offended when a passerby in a truck used the “N” word. In 2021, someone posted flyers in his neighborhood accusing him of child molestation and he encouraged his social media followers to remove them. However, there does not appear to be any evidence to substantiate the claims of molestation. He was involved in a campaign to smear Orthodox Jewish City Council candidate Ari Hoffman in 2019. Ironically, people on the alt-Right message board 8Chan participated in harassment of Hoffman. Hoffman later quit the race due to threats against his wife. The FBI investigated the hate campaign, but Watson wasn't punished. Watson was a barista who ran an anonymous blog where he posted snarky comments he made to customers. Dae Shik Kim Hawkins, Jr., aka Dae Shik Kim, is a Seattle radical who was interviewed at CHAZ by the left-wing British tabloid the Guardian and said, “I think what we’re seeing in CHAZ is just a snippet of a reality that the people can have." He was described by the Guardian as one of the zone's organizers.
