Graham Platner, is a USMC and ARNG war vet and current oyster farmer in Downeast coastal Maine. He is running as a Democratic Senate candidate for his first attempt at a significant political office and is trying to unseat the unpopular Rhino Senator Susan Collins. Platner insists that he is not a "liberal" or "progressive" democrat, yet is quoted as saying “I got older and became a communist.” on Reddit He has been frantically deleting his Marxist social media record from the last 5 years since he launched his run for the Senate in August 2025. Some other Gems of his include “all” police as bastards, and said rural White Americans “actually are” racist and stupid, according to deleted social media posts reviewed by CNN’s KFile. Platner's politics are essentially indistinguishable from the Marxist progressive caucus of the Democratic Party and he seems to have been using the same script John Kerry used in the Vietnam era, which is being opposed to and protesting the war he fought in before he joined up and went to serve there. Now he is trying to leverage that veteran status into high office despite renouncing patriotism and his service. Platner also keeps up his private arms to fight "Fascists and the Oligarchy".
