Shao is an honors accounting student at the University of South Florida who participated in a violent protest at the university which was organized by the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). Four SDS members were arrested for assaulting police and other charges, but Shao wasn't one of them. She was previously at a February 2023 protest against Gov.
