He is on the record discussing his time in the 1980s when the Baldies, an antifa skinhead group. Knutson's role as a union official More recently, in 2022, Knutson was identified as the president of Communications Workers of America (CWA) local 7250. In this role, he offered his perspective on a Minneapolis Police Department report on political extremism, dismissing the MPD's analysis of antifa as superficial.
