Jonathan Christopher Paul (born Jan. '66) is an animal rights and environmental activist who firebombed a horse meat plant in 1997. He pled guilty to arson and conspiracy charges in 2006 and was sentenced to 51 months in prison. Ironically, Paul had worked as a wildland firefighter. He had priors for burglary, criminal mischief and conspiracy to commit a class C felony which may have been related to animal rights terrorism. Paul is a long-time animal rights activist and founded an anti-hunting group in 1987. In 1995, he co-founded the Sea Defense Alliance, a group that tried to block Native Americans from exercising their treaty rights to hunt whales off the coast of California. Unlike his girlfriend during the Green Scare period, Jennifer Kolar (https://antifawatch.net/ViewReport/aadd64ee), Paul isn't a snitch and went to jail for five months in 1993 for refusing to testify in front of a grand jury against his buddy Rodney Coronado. Paul appears to have come from a very comfortable background. His father was a partner at a top law firm and media reports say he had a trust fund. His sister is former Babewatch actress Alexandra Paul (https://antifawatch.net/ViewReport/d2f340ec) who's a member of the radical animal rights group Direct Action Everywhere. He lives in the Siskiyou mountains outside of Ashland and works as a driver for a wilderness fire brigade. http://info.interactivist.net/article.pl?sid=06/11/14/1649245 https://archive.ph/zu9r8 https://archive.ph/7w62A https://archive.ph/fOSbW
