Grant Edwin Swanson (DOB: 01/02/77) was active in the Portland Occupy movement during the early 2010s when he was V.P. of AFSCME Local 88. He seemed to take a great deal of interest in porta potty maintenance at the Occupy encampment. During the George Floyd / BLM riots in Portland, Swanson seems to have been one of the union leaders organizing a wall of hardhats to act as human meat shields between police and rioters. Brandy "June" Lynn Knightly, aka "T-Rex", (1961 - 2022) was a long-time activist, mostly in the lez community but began participating in Antifa riots during the George Floyd rioting cycle. Knightly volunteered at Rose City Antifa protests / riots as a corker, a person who illegally blocks traffic on public roadways. In February 2022, she was illegally blocking traffic with her motorcycle on a street near Normandale Park in northeast Portland. The ruckus disturbed a local resident who came out to see what was going on. Insults and then gunfire was exchanged between Antifa and the man and Knightly wound up dead on the ground. Because Antifa tampered with evidence, removing shell casings from the scene, and because there were a huge number of Antifa who testified against the man, he was convicted of murder. Knightly had cancer twice and probably didn't have much time to live anyway but the man didn't receive any discount on his sentence. Knightly has become a martyr for Portland's Antifa, and several memorials sprouted up like slimy mushrooms near the site of her death. In 2023, residents began complaining about an extremely tacky memorial at Normandale park and the city agreed to remove it. Antifa has vowed to protect the memorial no matter what. Jeffrey "Jeff Free" T. Luers (born Dec. '78) is an eco-terrorist who attempted arson at Tyree Oil Company in 2000 in Eugene, Oregon and then set fire to SUVs at a Chevrolet dealership. Luers was charged with a whole host of felonies including attempt to commit a class A felony, attempt to commit a class C felony, unlawful manufacture of a destructive device, unlawful possession of a destructive device, criminal mischief and arson. He had a prior charge in 1998 for assault on a public safety officer and a 2000 charge for harassment. He was initially sentenced to over 22 years in prison, but an appeals court reduced the sentence to 10 years. He was an associate of Craig Marshall with whom he committed his arsons. Luers began his eco-terrorist career by organizing a group called "Red Cloud Thunder" which held tree sitting campaigns to stop lumbering. Luers was a Eugene resident at the time of his crimes. He now lives in southern Oregon and has ties to residences in Ashland and Phoenix, Oregon but probably lives in Phoenix. Cassidy Patrick Wheeler (born Jan '80) is a Portland area anarchist who was incarcerated for eight years in the 2000s. He was a poster boy for Anarchist Black Cross groups during his stay in the pen. The anarchists claim he was arrested for shoplifting a pair of socks, but his criminal record shows he was arrested in 2001 for robbery, assault and assault on a public safety officer. While in prison, he was investigated by the FBI who had found his name in captured Al Qaeda documents. He also had numerous disciplinary infractions in prison. Although, we can't find the offense, he appears to be a sex offender since he was charged with failure to register in 2015. The sex offense may have been committed when he was a juvi. Rose City Antifa is known for its criminality, but Wheeler is a very bad seed, even by Antifa standards. His long criminal career stretches back at least to the late 1990s and probably earlier as a juvenile. He comes from a middle-class background and his parents set him up with a Portland apartment after his release from prison. He had dreams of attending community college after prison but sadly, they seem to have crashed to the ground as he's had numerous subsequent felony arrests since his release.
