He's an ELF member who was arrested in 2001 as part of a group that firebombed logging and cement trucks in Oregon. Sherman's father, a 9-1-1 operator in Portland, contacted the FBI with suspicions about his son which set of an investigation. Although notorious eco-terrorist Tre Arrow was later fingered as the ringleader by his associates, Sherman was identified as the leader during early questioning by police.
